These dogs were some of the best scene partners I've ever had. :)

A WEBSERIES CO-CREATED WITH LA COMIC PEGGY SINNOTT Spitting Cobras is the story of two ambitious young women working their asses off to become super fucking famous rappers. Unfortunately they have no connections, no street cred, no talent and no clue. It’s just like Empire, if it was a comedy, and no one had any money or power – but plenty of ego.
Happy Hour, a truly original combination of acting, live music and movement. The show features part of the Venice Symphony Orchestra (“VSO”), led by Wesley Flowers, providing the live soundtrack for the show. The show is brilliantly directed by Elitia Daniels in her directorial debut.
- Bob Leggett http://www.lamusiccritic.com/indie_voice_blog/hff16-day-two-part-2/ Okay, so we had a red moon eclipse. Normally I get really excited about things that are rare or only happen once in the span of a lifetime. However, that Sunday, I was exhausted and looking more forward to drinking the champagne we had bought for my friend's birthday earlier that day, than the effects of the Earth's atmosphere on the color of our moon.** However, I did walk up that infamous hill and found myself in a sea of people all gathered at the Griffith Park Observatory to watch this special phenomena.
I have to admit, I was slightly let down...too many clouds and light pollution to truly appreciate the moon's full glory. What I was struck by was how many people turned out to see this moon. In a city filled with screens and long commutes, I was genuinely touched that so many found this event worth the trek, the traffic and the parking. A true Los Angeles compliment. (And Jay-z wasn't even there!) The next day, I was sitting in my acting class and my classmate turned to me and asked, "Do you want to read my poem?" "Yeah," I said. He shifts his hand so I can see the screen of his phone, while our teacher continues to berate us for not rehearsing enough. I read his poem. It was good. He tells me he wrote it while he sat alone at the Griffith Observatory, watching the eclipse. He smiled and we turned back to our teacher. That night, driving home from class, I thought about my life and how easy it is to stay at home, to not make an effort, to not take the time to sit and maybe write a poem. I thought about the hundreds of people who made an effort to see this special eclipse in the park when they could have watched a live feed online in the comfort of their apartment. So, maybe the view wasn't perfect, but the red moon was a nice reminder of the importance of giving a shit and making an effort and taking the trek....and the champagne was good too. **http://earthsky.org/space/why-does-the-moon-look-red-during-a-total-lunar-eclipse** |
